{"id":500,"date":"2020-03-25T11:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T02:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aota.kr\/?p=500"},"modified":"2020-07-13T08:57:34","modified_gmt":"2020-07-12T23:57:34","slug":"the-2nd-bulletin-regarding-the-16th-itc-from-aota-eta-lats-and-ata","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/aota.kr\/?p=500","title":{"rendered":"The 2nd Bulletin Regarding the 16th ITC from AOTA, ETA, LATS, and ATA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-0 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mar 25<sup>th<\/sup>,\n2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Bulletin Regarding the 16<sup>th<\/sup>\nITC from AOTA, ETA, LATS, and ATA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 16<sup>th<\/sup> ITC has been postponed for now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The global spread of the COVID-19 virus\ncontinues unabated. Our sister societies, their members, and our nations are\nall suffering catastrophic health\nimpacts, severe financial consequences, travel restrictions, and schedule\ndisruptions. Moreover, we all face an uncertain future with respect to recovery\nfrom this pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We all sincerely wish the 16<sup>th<\/sup> ITC to be held\nat a time that there may be a healthier and safer environment, financial\nrecovery, lifting of travel restrictions, and less competing pressures on the\nschedules of our members. When recovery has occurred globally a greater number\nof individuals may be able to attend, thus contributing to a more robust, vibrant,\nand successful ITC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A decision about the best time for a rescheduled ITC &nbsp;will be delayed for as long as is needed to\nfully ascertain the situation. It is our hope that with additional delay more\ninformation about the trajectory of the pandemic may become available. It may then\nbe possible to make a decision based on a greater amount of reliable\ninformation. We do not wish to prematurely re-schedule the ITC for a time that\nAOTA, ETA, LATS, and ATA members will not be in a position to fully support the\nCongress.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We apologize about this delayed decision and\nappreciate that it does add to the uncertainty experienced by our international\nthyroid community. We all miss the opportunity to be able to engage\nprofessionally and personally with our fellow members. We will notify all our\nsister society members when a decision about the timing of the 16<sup>th<\/sup>\nITC becomes possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We express solidarity with all our society members\nthroughout the world and hope that everyone is staying as safe and as healthy\nas possible.
